Canon World
Snow Falls is a cozy little town far enough from the airport and/or Big City center to make traveling there slightly inconvenient. Single travelers en route often find themselves having to share rental cars with handsome strangers; occasionally the roads in and out of town will be snowed closed for just long enough to be forced to do some seasonal baking in a weirdly huge cabin kitchen.
Famous for friendly (if a little bit nosy) neighbors, charming shops, its quaint Christmas village, and a yearly winter benefit to fundraise for whatever local novelty is threatening to fail this time.
Some people might not think much of it, but one thing is certain: it's home.
History
- Holly was born. Dad considers this the best day of his life, except for maybe the day that he recognized he was in love with your Mom.
- Any fool can have a child. That doesn’t make you a dad. It’s the courage to raise a child that makes you a dad.
- A daughter may outgrow a dad's lap but she'll never outgrow a dad's heart.
- They say that from the instant he lays eyes on her, a dad adores his daughter. Whoever she grows up to be, she is always to him that little girl in pigtails. She makes him feel like Christmas. In exchange, he makes a secret promise not to see the awkwardness of her teenage years, the mistakes she makes, and to be supportive when she chooses to move to Big City to follow her career.
- Holly's absence is made harder when Mom passes away after a tastefully brief illness.
- Dad goes into a tasteful period of grieving that, a few years on, has mostly mellowed into anecdotes that start with 'Like your Mom always said,' and 'Your Mom would have loved this.'
- When Hilly returns to Snow Falls in search for the perfect Christmas tree, Dad is there to welcome her back with open arms even if he's a little skeptical what's brought her back to town.
- —And to give her some sentimental advice about the local hunk. Look, he knows a thing or two about finding respect on the other side of swallowing one's pride.
- Holly's choice to remain in Snow Falls is the best day of this life, except for maybe the day she was born and the day that he recognized he was in love with your Mom.
Personality
- Spend time with your child. How a father spends his time reveals to his child what is important to him. Kids grow up quickly and the time to bond is now. There are plenty of fun ways to spend family time with children.
- Discipline with love and positive parenting. All children need positive guidance and discipline, not as punishment, but to set reasonable limits. Dads should remind children of the consequences of their actions and positively acknowledge desirable behavior. Fathers who discipline in a calm and fair manner show love for their children.
- Be your child's role model. Whether they realize it or not, fathers are role models to their kids. A girl who spends time with a loving father grows up knowing she deserves to be treated with respect by boys and she learns what to look for in a partner. Fathers teach boys and girls what is important in life by demonstrating honesty, humility and responsibility.
- Earn the right to be heard. Fathers should begin conversations with their children about important topics when they are very young so that difficult subjects will be easier to handle as they get older. Take time for listening to your child's ideas and problems.
- Be your child's teacher. To be a good father, teach your children about right and wrong and encourage them to do their best. See that your children make good choices. Involved fathers use everyday examples to help children learn the basic lessons of life.
- Respect the other parent of your child. Parents who respect each other and demonstrate mutual respect to their children, provide a secure environment for them. When children see parents respecting each other, they are more likely to feel that they are also accepted and respected within the father-child relationship.

Fit
Dad knows a thing or two about working hard, cherishing what you have when while you have it, and always looking to be a little more fair and thoughtful about the people around you today than you were yesterday. That's something your Mom helped teach him even before her tragic offscreen sacrifice to the narrative. So while he may be a little homespun, he'd ultimately fit right in with Diplomacy.
